Yoga: A Journey to Self-Empowerment

Empowerment is the process of becoming stronger and more confident, especially in controlling one’s life and claiming one’s rights; and Yoga is one of the humblest ways in which to build your self-confidence and to feel empowered.
A Yoga class can teach us to use our body to accomplish things that we may have once thought impossible, whether it is being able to reach our toes, or coming to balance upside down. On the mat we are empowered to try, make mistakes, and still be fully accepted.
Regular practice also helps in improving physical appearance. When we look good, we feel better about us. But Yoga doesn’t only build a fit, beautiful and a strong yogi body; it also teaches how to be the strongest, most confident, and compassionate version of ourselves, while helping us to find inner peace and serenity.
Pose to pose, the spirit of our efforts is proof enough in practice. And the person whose opinion matters the most is our own. For instance, in Downward Facing Dog, your hands are as important as your feet. This is because the foundation is about rooting both of your extremes and softening your heart down and feeling your strength. All the while, the breath nurtures you and makes you feel powerful. At this point, Self-doubt and insecurities melt away.
Through meditation one is able to remake a long lost connection with oneself. We become more aware about ourselves and this helps us in recognizing our strengths and weaknesses in a better way. Once this awareness is achieved we feel more comfortable with our own body and mind.
This is how remarkably yoga is able to boost the self-empowerment. Once you are aware about your own capabilities and downfalls and have enough physical strength it will become easier for you to deal with any type of problems. You will be able to maintain faith in yourself in the most unpredictable situations.
You have the strength to be independent. Listen to your soul’s wisdom for how you want to live, and just do it by taking responsibility for your own growth and happiness. Discover for yourself that you can face anything—a happy life depends on you being empowered to live freely and completely.
